I get them every year in my flower beds. A few years ago I was fortunate to see a mama bumblebee with several babies around her. I have never witnessed again… Wish I had taken a photo of them, but at the time it was just so fascinating to watch..Sadly, their number is in decline…Hit by diseases harbored by honeybees! I have made sure all my garden flowers are good for a bee to help encourage them in our country, we think of bumblebees as dangerous insects, and better not to approach them. But in this case, as a pollinator, bumblebees are essential for flowering.
Could it be trying to extend the season? I have seen bees Turn a tree that had no flowers which a few days later when there were a bunch of bees around it flowers started imaging Mother nature has beautiful ways to help us but we chose to ignore it, making our destruction inevitable. They learned that trick from the murder hornets…they’re very smart I’ve heard. Instead of seeing a problem, as I would have done, she saw an opportunity. Brilliant, life is all about diversifying, and never has it been more important than right now. Well done that lady.A lovely story about being positive and making the best of things.
