They should reduce Vine’s pay to her level or take the average of the two. They could have cut Jeremy Vine’s salary down to equal hers. Would have made much more sense. They are all overpaid. Also, disparity between different ethnicities and Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you shirt abled/disabled which need to be sorted too. Pay should be based on merit. No one should be given a pay rise because of their gender. How long has the guy worked for the company – how long has she – do they do equal hours or back-office work – there are literally a million variables – could a man demand a pay rise because another man earns more – I think not.

Equality is good for everyone, it really shouldn’t need to be said, but still, some people need help with explaining sexism and bias. Also, whilst I’m here down with the patriarchy!
