According to Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump didn’t really say anything outright Halloween buckle up buttercup you just flipped my witch pumpkin shirt, as many people believe. But the interpretation of it can be deemed moving, as it certainly was for the American Flag-wearing Abbie Hoffman. A 100-year-old alleged former guard at a Nazi concentration camp will stand trial in Germany. Do you think justice can be served when both the accused and the witnesses are so old and the events transpired so long ago? Do you think justice can be served when both the accused and the witnesses are so old and the events transpired so long ago? Their ages help them with reduced sentences. A Nazi war criminal stood trial a few years ago and was charged as an accessory to 300,000+ murders. He was sentenced to FOUR years in prison. Back in 2007 George Clooney and his then-girlfriend,Sarah Larson, were involved in a motorcycle accident. They were both taken to Pallasides Medical Center in New Jersey. 27 employees were suspended, without pay, and then subsequently terminated after it was determined that they looked and or released Mr. Clooney’s and Ms. Larson’s medical information to the press. Because they did this the press knew details about their injuries and what tests they had. These 27 employees didn’t have contact with nor assisted with the treatment of the patients. A total of 49 ( including the 27) were investigated for accessing their records. Now what I found interesting was the fact that Mr. Clooney sided with the employees. He said, “while I very much believe in a patient’s right to privacy,” he said in a statement released to the media, “I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers.” Apparently, Mr.Clooney doesn’t understand that these employees violated federal law by doing this. They didn’t do it because they were helping in his treatment, they did it because they saw dollar signs and wanted to make some money by releasing the information to the media. I don’t know if the hospital was fined ( because they definitely could have been), but I do know that the 27 employees did end up getting terminated. This is a prime example of why only certain people should be allowed to access patient’s private healthcare information.
