I had 2 Dachounds, one living for 21 yrs. Can’t pass one by now when I see one. The loveliest of breeds shame, so many animals suffer from obesity and related co-morbidities due to the misguided love of their owners. More education is needed. The person who has let their dog get like that should have it taken from them and not be allowed another. That is so cruel, poor thing.Poor thing. How cruel to do that to your dog. They have no control over what they’re fed, it’s our responsibility alone. Glad it’s lost the weight, poor little thing.

Oh my. Well done the I am your friend your partner your Dachshund shirt new owner for taking such good care of him and putting him on such a good diet and exercise program. That’s just as bad as not feeding your dog. I don’t get how someone can let their dog get that size and think it’s ok still. How can someone do this to any animal? This is pure carelessness on the ex-owner’s part to feed the dog junk food. I am so happy that he is healthy and happy now. Oh yes, there is another one like this in US Ali. He is called Obie the dachshund and has his own fb page. It is terrible what some owners will feed them!! He is looking v healthy now though.
