I watched his brother collapse to the ground at the sight of George’s death. It broke me. Broke my heart wide open. If he can stand up, pick his shattered self up off the ground, and find the grace and goodwill to appeal for peace, then I can too. Well said. My thoughts are with him and his family, cannot imagine their grief, made so much worse by the way in which George died. Utterly senseless here on the BBC I have the utmost respect for the police who do an amazing job in difficult circumstances, I could not do their job.

The way in which the police involved here though, is beyond words. I cannot understand it at all. Rest in Peace George. This is bigger than Floyd. That takes so much strength to do from someone in so much pain. His own brother wants peace and yet there is still anarchy on the streets. Spread love, not fear. And maybe they’ll listen. So much respect for this dude. This brother’s example is heartbreaking. Terrence Floyd’s composure in the face of such violence is humbling. May his family find grace and comfort in this painful time. I am in America and am stunned the contrast of these words vs the ones Trump just spoke. This is dangerous and dictatorial. The Floyd family asking for peace and no violence. Then our President telling our military police to use force on protesters.
