After i got out of prison , I started thinking about that God forsaken place again and I still think about it. So much so that last summer I went back. The prison is a museum now and I think about The 90s shirt tours . So i went and saw my old cell .Even told some of the tourists about the place. . It never leaves me and I hate it. Growing up in an environment, where a wrestler’s work ethic determines their successes on the mat teaches a young wrestler many valuable life’s lessons that find application in special operations. Also the sport obviously also a good job keeping wrestlers in shape. Not necessarily… but what IS true is that poorly-managed BG (Blood Glucose) levels DO impair the immune system – the poorer the control, the more severe the impairment. And good BG control DOES allow a good immune system response to any infection. BUT… periods of poor control will impair the immune system – and that impairment can last into periods of good control. In short… the more one keeps BG levels in range, the better the immune response will be; but it will not necessarily be as good as a non-diabetics. I’ve lived with T1 (Type 1 DM) for over 55 years; I’ve always maintained good BG control. My immune system is as good as, or better than, many of my non-diabetic friends. I rarely get colds or flu, and when I do – I recover quickly. I was diagnosed with Covid-19 last Christmas… and was over it shortly after New Years’; and it was no worse than a bad cold for me (it was not fun, and I’m not recommending it – but my immune system was able to deal with it – with NO intervention beyond OTC cold meds).
