As Donna Fernstrom pointed out, human morality doesn’t correspond with nonhuman morality. Animals do things that we I work harder than an ugly stripper shirt find abhorrent like violent acts of cannibalism, n*crophilia, sexual assault, and other yucky stuff. From the baboon’s perspective? Yes. Baboon morality is different from our morality. We can afford to look at lions and be like “awww cute” because (generally) we’re not threatened by them. Baboons are, however, so for them it’s an advantage. Less baby lions/leopards = less adult lions/leopards.
