It isn’t a puzzle. Civilized. Educated. Disciplined. Empathetic. Cohesive. Respect for personal space and I would like to solve the puzzle shirt clean. Any society with these traits in varying degrees will do just fine in a pandemic. Also, they face many natural disasters, yet they don’t go around whining like cowards. Every society can learn from the Japanese mindset. All it takes is a culture that believes in both science, and individual sacrifices for the greater good. Suddenly people keep their distance and mask up…Because they are pretty healthy overall. Low weight, dont drink excessively, do drugs, etc like their western counterparts they don’t politicize the wearing of masks. They’ve always been wearing them even pre-Covid even if they just have a simple cold so that they won’t pass it on to others. Empathy, discipline, and a culture that values the common good rather than individual interests all played a role in reaching this result. I think the mix of masks and not talking has helped in situations where even though people were in real proximity, there wasn’t a surge in COVID19 cases. Because they are not as horrifically auto-centric as we are.

They are clean people with great respect for personal space and they listen to their scientists and doctors. They didn’t go out in huge crowds protesting in the streets while not even wearing masks. They didn’t protest the recommended wearing of masks. It’s no puzzle. They are civilized. Most other nations are not when compared to them.
