We’d have ended up with fewer cases and more importantly, we wouldn’t have needed to lockdown for so long and this would have helped our economy because we wouldn’t still be half locked down. All pandemics end in the same way: herd immunity, either through vaccination or exposure to the virus. Lockdowns serve only to slow the spread and allow health services to cope. The accuracy of comparative statistics between countries is hard to gauge unless the methodology is the same everywhere, which it isn’t. The UK has been slow to react at every stage though, which has led to more deaths than in other countries. There have always been viruses around which kill lots of people; what is curious about this one is that it has been deemed necessary to crash economies to bring it under control, and that is where the politics and science collide. We must all do our bit to slow the spread, but in the end, the virus will only be tamed through herd immunity.

What was right for one country didn’t mean it was right for another. Even the scientists ‘experts’ contradicted each other. Our government relied on these experts to give the best advice. We had lockdown, but many of our neighbors chose to ignore it. So these people haven’t helped the situation. Doctors were reported as saying, we have to put something on the death certificate. We’re fighting back now, I hope you sober up and do what it’s necessary to do the same. Forget all this crap about herd immunity and vaccines, this has a long way to run yet. The winter will see another massive outbreak and a huge number of deaths.
