What a shame, to have to Washington Redskins 90th anniversary 1932-2022 thank you for the memories signatures shirt change the name. What are you wanting to do, get rid of everything with an American Indian name, and effectively try to write them off. Maybe they can just change their logo and keep the name, similar to what the Cleveland Indians baseball team did a few years ago. If the name must change, I’d suggest they could be called the Washington Senators. This has come up many times over the last 20 years (at least). It would be nice if they would actually change the name and do the right thing for a change. I quite agree that the name of a traitor who had sworn allegiance to his King should be removed from that team. When sports become entwined in politics, it’s time to shut down. Wouldn’t that be a positive step? Why are we even still paying for them in a world full of choice for news and entertainment? It’s absolutely correct this club change its name to reflect todays social and political attitudes. After all, Washington owned slaves, and Redskin is an insulting name for the original indigenous tribes of the Americas.

The mascot can be a baby balloon like the Trump one. That or a World War II P-51 Mustang piloted by a Black man out of Tuskegee. Swap the man’s portrait for a portrait of a hawk and it’s done. That or a World War II P-51 Mustang piloted by a Black man out of Tuskegee.
